The studio is up three flights of stairs. Because this is a B-listed building there is no possibility of adding a lift. I am really sorry about that.
When the sun finally comes out I will do some outdoors classes, ‘en plein air’ painting, and I can make certain we set up in spots that are widely accessible to everyone.
While the paints used in the studio are low toxicity, art materials can be highly toxic. Please take a minute to look at the information on each paint tube or medium before you use it so that you're aware of the potential risks. This is particularly crucial if you're using professional-quality paint, which often contains heavy metals.
Latex-free gloves are available in the studio for free if you are concerned about getting paint on your hands.
If you use kitchen paper to mop up oil please put them it in the bin immediately as it present a serious fire hazard, particularly in the summer. The GSA up the road serves as reminder of how fast studio fires can become really serious! When working at home, make sure you take out your art-related rubbish at the end of the day, especially linseed soaked kitchen paper, which can spontaneously combust.
I am a qualified first aider (St. John Ambulance). If you need first aid I have a kit available. I also have an enhanced DBS certificate (to clear me for working with children).
If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of a lesson you will be fully refunded. If you cancel less than 24 hours ahead of your lesson you will not be refunded for the lesson fee.
